CeMat India 2010

Report from a member of the Toyota Material Handling India crew:

CeMAT India Exhibition is the window for latest trends and technologies in material handling and logistics. This time it was held in Mumbai at Bombay Exhibition Center between 15th to 18th Dec’10. There were totally 127 exhibitors which included international & domestic players. This exhibition attracted over 3000 visitors from diverse industries.

We had displayed ten equipments, five each from Toyota & BT range of products. We had put up our stall using 130 Sq.m.

Apart from exhibiting our product line-up, we had three other main agendas for the show.

1)       Announcement of the new company formation

2)       Launch of new product (FDZN forklift, made in Toyota plant in China)

3)       Display of Airport Towing Tractor (Electric type)

4)       Display of product line-up from Toyota & BT range

On the second day of the show (16th Dec), we had a function to announce the new company formation as well as unveiling of the new product (FDZN). We had invited customers and press for the event. There was an overwhelming response to the event with about 120 people witnessing the function. This was followed by a press meet.

Our stall had developed keen interest among the visitors and we could receive around 450 visitors. We could generate enquiries for about 250 units from 232 customers.

From the interaction with the visitors, we could get a sense of increased activities in all industry segments with expected increase in demand for material handling equipment. This has also resulted in increased interest in the Indian market by many foreign manufacturers. We expect increased competition in the market, but we are sure we will continue to maintain our number one position amongst imported brands and increase our market share.
