Many companies can benefit from automation within the handling process. BT’s unique Autopilot concept allows simple driverless operation for repetitive movement of goods. Easy to install and easy to modify, the Autopilot increases efficiency and saves money. BT’s LAE model is a semi-automatic truck that can also be used manually. Autopilot uses laser guidance technology, and creates routes using a straightforward ‘Teach-In’ program.
In essence, an operator simply drives the truck through the desired transport routes. The truck memorises the route as it goes, using strategically placed reflectors to identify its position. New routes and stations can be added or changed, quickly and simply, at any time. Laser guidance and Teach-In technology offer users a simple system with flexibility, resulting in a cost-effective solution to repetitive long-distance materials handling needs. The Autopilot is ideal for manufacturing applications in which similar journeys are made repetitively, for example, delivery of goods between production lines and storage areas, or between conveyor systems. This frees-up expensive human resources for more demanding tasks. Multi-shift applications in particular will benefit from considerable cost savings.
