BT Powerdrive

Performance, Programmable and User friendly
The BT Powerdrive system is the 24 volt control system used in almost all of BTs steering arm and E-man trucks, covering all of the trucks in the BT Orion, Ixion and Opus ranges of trucks. The BT Powerdrive system consists of the handle, controller and drive motor. CAN-bus communication technology is used between the components to ensure quick and reliable use of the trucks.
The Handle
The Handle is in itself a unique combination of, modern technology and Patented design to give a reliable and easy to use Handle. All truck functions are easily accessible for left or right hand control giving an ergonomically correct and easy manoeuvring of the truck.  The enclosed IC card in the handle monitors and controls all performance aspects of the truck. The use of the no-touch technology of Hall elements, that has virtually no wear points, eliminates mechanical switches that are susceptible for wear. The integrated display gives the driver an easy view of the status of the truck. The display normally shows the trucks battery status but can show much more. With a few easy clicks the truck driver can change such aspects as top speed acceleration and automatic speed reduction on the truck. A serviceman can also view eventual error codes through the display to make fault finding and repair more time efficient.

Pin-code control
The Pin-code control is the quickest and easiest choice for starting up your truck. The four digit Pin-code gives you the benefit of allowing up to 100 codes each with there specific set of programmable driver parameters.  The traditional key option that is still available on Orion and some Ixion trucks allows you one set of programmable parameters for the truck.

Performance
Drive Motor

The system is completed with Seperately Excited motor, SEM, to provide power and efficiency. The SEM technology together with the CAN communication within the truck allows you to program the truck to suit the application. The top speed is virtually unaffected by the load. Low energy consumption and regenerative braking means that the BT Powerdrive trucks are efficient and can achieve more work cycles per work shift.

CAN control
The use of CAN (Controller Area Network) control allows communication within the truck with just two leads to each electronical unit connecting them as in a communication network. The control of the truck is thereby performed in a more safe, quick and reliable way using this technique which is the same as in for example the car industry.

The Controller
The controller is the “muscle” in the truck that distributes the electrical power to where it is needed. The Curtis controller is optimised for use together with the SEM motors in the BT Powerdrive system.
